Private Site Code of Conduct – Fundraiser Summary & Sign-off
These rules must be adhered to at all times. See full Code of Conduct in your Professional Fundraiser Guide for more information on these rules:
1 - Adhere to the Fundraiser Guide Code of Conduct and Vulnerable Persons Guidelines
2 - Ensure you stay within the limits of your assigned site. Do not street fundraise by wandering offsite and moving too far away from your stand.
3 - Do not short sell the charity to obtain a donor.
4 - Do not claim you are just taking the donor’s details for further information/ future contact.
5 - Do not criticise other charities.
6 - Do not accept cash donations. If somebody wants to donate cash or wants to donate later, refer them to the charity’s website.
7 - Do not sign up yourself, members of your family or others working on behalf of Capll.
Do not take any animals onto your stand.
Ensure you only fundraise for the charity for which you have the corresponding merchandise (including the stand)
Always wear your ID badge and make sure the front of it (photo side) is visible at all times.
Be professional at all times. As far as the public is concerned, you are the Charity.
Do not smoke whilst wearing your charity branded clothing
Proceed with caution with potentially vulnerable members of the public. Refer to the Vulnerable Persons Guidelines in the Professional Fundraiser Guide.
Consolidate – reiterate the long-term commitment and donation amount. Explain the “What Happens Next” process (refer to P.9 in Professional Fundraiser Guide)
If asked something you do not know, do not make up an answer! Refer the person to the Capll helpline 0800 066 3214 for processing queries, or for charity queries, direct to their supporter care team or website.
Make sure the donor has read the solicitation statement him/herself and has ticked the “I understand” box next to it him/herself. DO NOT TICK THIS BOX YOURSELF!
If a member of the public asks you if you or Capll are paid, refer him/her to this statement.
Make sure you have asked the donor whether s/he agrees to receiving future charity communications before you tick the corresponding opt-in boxes. DO NOT TICK THESE BOXES if the donor does not want to be contacted.
Report any complaints or issues to your manager. Do the same if you think that an interaction you have had with a member of the public may lead to a complaint.
Please sign below to confirm you have had the points above explained to you and that you understand all the rules.
